Here's the problem. I take off WOT and get up about 300-400 feet. I cut back the throttle to 1/2 or 1/4 to cruise mode and it dies. Sometimes if I only cut back to 3/4 throttle it'll stay running. If I fly for 5 minutes at WOT it'll stay running but as soon as I throttle back it dies.
The nitro is about 1 year old but if I put it in my car it runs fine. I'm running PowerMaster 15% airplane fuel and it's always stored in a cool dark area in the back of my garage on a shelf with no sunlight hitting it whatsoever.
The setup is a Bridi Aircruiser with a K&B .20 Sportster. I changed the motor out with one in my other planes to an O.S. .20 FP that I know works. Same problem again.
I checked the fuel line and tank for pressure and all seems fine. no leaks and good ease of fuel movement. Changed glow plugs and see no difference.
This problem does not happen on the ground, only in the air. I am in Southern California at sea level.
Anyone encounter this event before that this type of thing is a distict problem which can be pointed out easily?
When you throttle an engine back and it dies (but not on the ground) what typically is that a sign of?
The motors run like a champ on the ground! It just dies while flying.
Thanks in advance for anyones help.

FWIW
I had a year old can of Powermaster 15% stored under similar conditions and have had the exact same problem as you have described with a OS .46 engine always ran great, till I opened this can. Same symptoms on the ground ran great, full throttle no problem, throttle back in the air it died, anywhere from slow cruise mid or 3/4 throttle. Used another brand of fuel problem went away, Hmmm. Another guy at the field had a can of the same fuel this year similar problems, new fuel, problem when away...
Can't say what your issue is the same but...
Now I never tried the fuel in anything else so I can't say for sure it was the issue. But...
