Hi; I just thought I would start this poll to see what the most popular engines are amoung the viewers of this web site. I think it should be interesting to see what the most popular brands are. This is just for 2 stroke glow engines. So vote for your favorite engine.

Tried before
This has been tried before but didn't generate much interest becuse most guys want to vote for more than one brand. I would have to vote for Fox, K&B, Super Tigre the real ones from Italy, Irvine, MDS and Webra.

Used MDS. I paid 33 bucks for almost new .58 that runs as good as any OS engine and 50 bucks for an MDS .68 that has 5 years of hard use and still running at over 200 hours total time. Just got an MDS .40 on Ebay and can't wait to put it in a SPAD. I only got it because I got tired of hearing people bash it and wanted to know what the real deal was for myself.

rossi is our all out favorite with saito second but in this poll we opted for our all ways reliable and easy to use tt46's as we have plenty of them and they all work great.

The RJL is actually the old Kraft 61 which was a very popular engine in pattern circles in the late 70's. It had power competitive with the Supertigre and pre-FSR OS engines but couldn't stay with the Rossi's and FSR's.
As far as favorite engine, I am also at a loss to pick only one. For good power and reliable, first flip starting I have seldom seen the equal of the ST Bluehead. For sheer 'run forever' durability, the K&B 61 is hard to beat. For mechanical beauty and finish I would have to go with the OS FSR's.

I have a YS 45 but don't like it that much. Without a tuned pipe. and running on the stock muffler it is about the same as the OS46 FX but more weight. I'm not that impressed with it. It is sitting on the shelf and I have two OS46 FX engines in regular use.

Tough question....
....but if I have to pick one, ....
....it would be the OS .60 FSR. Cool running,
reliable, very powerful....ran this one for about 15
years....2-3 flights every weekend....finally rebuilt it,
and the piston and rod were in perfect condition, and
re-used. The bearings were still good as well, but were
of course replaced....the ring was worn almost in half.

Poll
A really good poll would include all the 2 stroke engines but when I started the poll it would only allow ten slots to be used, anybody know how to add more so that all engines can be represented? Jim
