Is it the NT or the latest version NX? I had a 46 NT that came in my Hangar 9 plug and play Piper Cub that wouldn't run right no matter what I did. I sent it back to Horizon under warranty and they couldn't make it run right either. They said they replaced almost every part on the engine and still no luck. They sent me a brand new Evolution 46 NX as a replacement as the NT was discontinued and the NX was the new version. So far the new engine runs great and is very strong. I'm happy with it so far but it doesn't have a lot of time on it either.

I've had a few of them and they have all been very good. The only problem is that several of them come out of the box with a very rich low-end setting and you'll need to remove the blue collar lock to adjust it properly.

The NT needs a hot plug like the A3.

One of the best running .46's I have is an Evo .46 NT that I got as a freebie...[8D]
A guy gave it to me after getting fustrated w/ it...was ready to pitch it in the trash...I told him "throw it my way"
The limiters on the carb can be a PIA to some...and I have gotten rid of them on all the Evo glow 2 strokes that I own (3 of them...a .455 Alpha, 2 .46's )

They are basically good engines, and some have carb "issues" but for the most part, the ones I have and have seen are a good value and are good performers.

My buddy has one(NT)in a Pulse and we just ditched the limiters as they were too rich, and it has been an excellent performer! He runs a 11-6 APC and it starts and runs flawlessly. It performs about exactly like an OS 46FX. Good value if you ask me.....

I have several 46 NT's form when they first came out. They have been used on everything from a quickie 500 to trainers and they are still going strong. Only real complaint is keeping the stock muffler together if you run at higher rpm's.

Kostas,
You know you are just going to buy an OS anyways. I just picked up my NEW EVO .60NX tonight. I needed a little 14 oz engine to get the Sundowner 50 cranking.

Yes indeed,
but right now i am going to save as much money as i can in order to also buy in the close future the newly designed Hangar-9 DeNight 40 ARF [>:]

I want to ask if the blue pieces are indeed like wheel collars and can be removed as long as you remove the screw that holds them in place.

Motorman any RPM//PROP numbers ?

Kostas,
I know it will be powerfull, since it has timing optimized for aftermarket tuned exhaust systems (FROM ENGINE MANUAL). I will not be running mine for a while. We are in the midle of a very cold winter. It is 15 * F outside currently. I would of put a you know what "TOWER .75" in it, but I am trying to keep it really light, and this is quite a bit lighter than any other .60+ other than a Jett.

They come right off just like you mentioned. I tuned one for a friend several years ago, and the only complaint I had with it was that the limiter kept me from leaning the low end where it should be. I quickly removed them, and I had it purring!!!!

R.P.M. numbers for my .46 NT's are pretty darn close to the same as my TT .46 Pro and O.S. .46 FX's

The one I can recall right off the top of my head is 14,000 to 14,200 w/ an APC 12x4 and Tower muffler on 15% Powermaster. (which is virtually identical to the TT and O.S. .46's w/ same muffler and fuel )
