Saito FA100 static thrust

Hi all
Does anyone know what the static thrust figures are for a Saito FA100?
I can't seem to find my original manual. I remember reading on the front page that a static thust figure was noted with a 14x8 APC prop but for the life of me can't remember what it was.

I would imagine static thrust is like horsepower - a calculated value. With variances due to atmospheric pressure (e.g. pressure altitude) thrust varies. Unless you do your measurements at "standard day" you will not ever really know. Even the changes in fuel will effect the out come.
So were I you, put a 14 X 8 on your engine, and tie a fish scale on the tail, run her up to WOT and see what you get. But remember you can change the prop to 14 X 7 or 14 X 6 and get a different number. And you can change the fuel from say 10% nitro to 20% nitro and get a different number.

What Chip said - it will depend on prop and other factors.
My Saito 100 gets somewhere between 9 - 10 lbs with an APC 14 x 8 (9200 rpm static).

15 x 4 wasn't even enough for my FA-91S CDI. It turned over 10K static & that doesn't leave enough cushion for the 11k redline.

Generally speaking thrust will not increase with more pitch at a given RPM at a given diameter propeller. Since RPM drops with more pitch, more pitch will achieve less thrust when the propeller diameter remains constant. A larger diameter propeller with less pitch will generate more thrust.
Using this STATIC THRUST CALCULATOR we get the following:
A 14 X 8 propeller will turn about 10,000 RPM @ 2 HP & generate about 10 1/2# of thrust, a similar 15 X 6 will turn similar RPM @ the same HP yet generate nearly 14# of thrust.

BTW; the FA-100 CDI conversion I fiddled with last summer was the most amazing boost in performance over GI that I have ever witnessed! Funny thing is, it ran the same peak HSN settings as GI but picked up something like 700 RPM..

It wasn't mine, I did the conversion for a Canadian member of our local club. Unfortunately, the engine came with an aluminum collet & would not hold ignition timing. I think I set the timing at 34*.
This seems to be a hit or miss thing as some have had the same issue with the FA-115 yet mine has a brass collet just like my FA-91S.
I did verify with Horizon that the replacement prop hub/collets for the FA-19S/100 & FA-115/125 are indeed bras as pictured on their site. They even went out & pulled stock to verify after I posted some rather critical feedback on here when I was brushed off by their online "chat" minion..
