7th Angel,
Of the above only the TT is actually better than the OS, the rest is only slightly lower in quality.

Bugleboy,
The same OS engine had a much lower HP figure a few years ago. OS lies just get worse. The TT shows about the same HP as the OS SF a few years ago. The same designer that designed the OS SF series designed the TT Pro series. The SF was actually more powerfull than the FX.

There are several good choices. Nobody will ridicule you if you go with OS46FX, TT 46 Pro, Irvine 53, Webra 50 ... all good stuff, extreemly few complaints. Basically one guy says his perfect engine is better than somebody else's perfect engine. Personally of the 4 i like the Irvine 53 the best simply because its the biggest, but i wouldn't part with any of them.

Now that sounds like an honest answer ! One person's experience doesn't really speak for a brand or line of motors as a whole.

Hey Darzeelon,

You are absolutely correct, The M.V.V.S. is the way to go. I forgot about them. Their quality and power is second only to my Jett .40 which cost $225.00.

Hey angel,

The only reason people buy O.S. is because the hobby shops have them. Why? the extra money goes to the hobby shop owner. They don't care what they sell. Since you are a bible thumper, how about the commandment "don't worship false gods" i.e. O.S.

Just because the OS costs more does not necisarily mean they actually have bigger profit margins, they are built at different labor rates and they pay the most for advertizing. Besides OS doesn't set street price, how much goes to the LHS is completely up to the LHS, and the consumers.

I don't know shops on your area , but i am quite sure my shop cares about what they sell. they know some of us like the Irvines, and a few other brands that are hard to get, yet they almost always have them in stock.

Max, I assume that "bible thumper" was not meant as a derogatory statement? I am afraid this thread has about had it.

Default engine choice?

Had the same problem, replaced the 40 ST with a 51` ST. Bolts in the same mounts , everything matches and the 51 is slightly lighter. Power and reliability are great.....my 2 cents worth.

The .51 is one I would consider highly.
