Default Unknown (?) glow engine

Hi, I recently purchased this engine, it's sturdy and superbly made, about 10CC with a "M" casting on the crankcase. Maybe a Miles engine? Many thanks for your help and infos, Chris

did a little googling around (since when is googling a word?) and found a batch of engines at an auction.. with this comment under "lot 59" in the link:

Very mixed lot included big water cooled glow [ED Miles Special, I believe. rc], an OS pull start unit for car or boat, a Cameron 15 geared engine, early ign engine, £200

http://modelenginenews.org/deRancoug....html#P1190029

So perhaps a Miles Special?

and in this link: http://modelenginenews.org/

if you go to "finder" and look for the E.D. Miles Special marine glow engine, you get another pic that looks an awful lot like the one that started this thread, minus the exhaust muffler / plumbing.

The muffler section of the exhaust system looks just like a prather marine muffler that is usually clamped to the end of a marine tuned pipe.
