I am refurbing an old Christen Eagle which I built from a Pilot Kit about 25 years ago.
At the time I had an Enya .80 FS. Wasn't over powered andI no longer have the engine so am considering a OS .90 or Saito .90 or even100.
Anyone have experience with this kit or similar.
It has a 49.5 inch wing span and weighs about 6.5 lbs.
The Siato 100 doesn't weigh much more than the Enya .80 I had in it. Though will likely have signifigantly more power.
Any thoughts appreciated.

The OS .90 or the Saito .91 would be much more powerful than the Enya 80. Start with 14 X 6 props. You could go for a Saito .82, which is still more powerful than the venerable Enya .80 and probably lighter to.

Had the same airplane back then. I used a Saito FA90 twin in mine. Flew excellently. I also had the 1/3 scale one and used an OS 300twin with Harris ignition. It flew like the real one.

Thanks for the responses. The Saito engines seem to be a bit lighter than OS. I may have an oportunity to purchase a new Saito 100 fairly cheap. In terms of reliability would the .90 be any different than than FA 100. It is an inverted mount. Other than weight would it be too large an engine, prop size etc. I didn't really get much use out of the Enya before packing it in for a while. Most of my flying was with 2 strokes at the time. Glad the airplane survived. (hung in a freinds home all these years.)

No, both Saitos will do just fine. The 100 is a replacement for the 91, but the 91 popularity keeps it around. The 100 has more cubes, ergo more powerful but the 91 is a serra hotel engine.
