Hi!

Today I flew only 2 minutes and then Rossiīs mini pipe broke down in the sky. What happened? This engine has flown only 10 minutes totally. I just ran it in 2 weeks ago and have been adjusting the Rossiīs Ī%# carb on the ground for a few hours, so I have never crashed this engine. The pipeīs tail was supported well and the other end was attached to the head by Ī%#Ī spring. The material of the pipe looks OK (no rust around). This ever happened to you? Iīm REALLY psd off with ROSSIīs carbs and their stupid pipes. This is ABSOLUTELY my first and LAST Rossi engine since itīs far too expensive to replace all things to get it to work. I just received new Perry 9500 carb (that works) and now Iīm going to order a new Genesis Mini Torque Pipe. What for the next???? Get gasoline engine.

just wondering how a pipe breaks off like that. maybe you should talk to your dealer and get a claim ... maybe it was a damaged pipe

I am sorry for your bad luck there- I have a Rossi-45 and 60 and the 45 ran perfect out of the box....

I cannot imagine how LOUD it must have been after that- did you get her down safely?

An unbalanced prop wouldn't do that (at least I wouldn't think so..) sounds like bad material in the pipe itself-

Send it back- and let us know what happens...

If you wanna sell the engine cheap let me know-

fix it with fibre glass and epoxy and mount the back part on a bracket.

Prop (APC 12.25x3.75) was not balanced - Iīve never done so (dunno how to do it either)..... . Yep, I got her safe and sound back onto runway though the engine quited high (fortunately) in the sky and wind was + 16 knots. Noisy? YES, it has always been noisy except when it quits . I bought 2 years ago from Just Engines UK but havenīt had time for this motor due to my job at sea. So, I just canīt ask the Just Engines to replace it. Anyways, they were very fair at the JE and promised me to give a new Rossi minipipe at 1/2 price BUT I refused since I just DONīT like Rossi sht any longer (case is good but carbs and mini pipes sucks a lot.). Then they gave me a good offer for Genesis Throttle Pipe - and I took it then. If that Ī#%# Rossi still fails on me - Iīll go to buy a real plane !

Those pipes are thin aluminum....and the prop, spinner
and back-plate need to be balanced....or the vibration
will get to it....
