I have been out of RC for awhile. Haven't flown much over past 3 years. I have a Satio 65 new engine but old style. 13X6 prop. Use to run fine. Since I started flying it again can't get it to run right. Just won't rev up as it should. Also cuts out some. Could my fuel be old. I have had it 3 years. It's Omega 15 percent.
I have Satio 82A mounted inverted in an Extra 300. It seems to run rich and doesn't run right . It's almost new. How do I know when I have these adjusted right. Same fuel. I'm more experienced with 2 cycle OS engines. Kind of new to Satio's.
Please help Thanks

Sounds like a possible fuel issue but may be some trash in the spraybar on the 65. Remove the high speed needle and try to flush it with fuel and blow some compressed air through it. Screw the high speed needle all the way in then back it out 3 turns and see how it goes from there. Does the 65 have and air bleed carb? You may have to adjust the air bleed screw. In to richen and out to lean the mixture. On the 82 do the same with the high speed needle, 3 turns out to start with, set peak high speed rpm and then back off 200-300 rpm then go to the low speed needle. If it is still set as it was from the factory it may still be rich. Turn the low speed needle in 1/8 of a turn at a time untill it acclerates without a hesitation or without burbling. The low speed needle I believe controls the fuel mixture for about 85% of the throttle range. It's kind of a balancing act and takes a little time but once you get them set they will run great. I'm still relatively new at running Saitos but have been able to adjust all of mine to run great. As far as the fuel goes, the fuel I have been running in mine is probably at least 2 years old. As long as there weren't any drastic temperature changes and it was kept out of direct sunlight and capped tightly it should be o.k. Just my $.02.

How many tanks of fuel has it had to date? This may be a candidate for running on the bench for a while until it breaks in better. As Minn said, the needles come from the factory set unbelievably rich. Did you get the manual with the engine? You can read or download it here: http://www.horizonhobby.com/ProdInfo..._manual-lo.pdf

With so many common postings of folks who have engine problems after long or short term storage, we should get a sticky going at the top of the engine forum. A check list or a troubleshooting tree would answer alot of questions for those with sick engines.
How about it mods?
