I have just come into owning a Ueda 61 and 2 McCoy 35 Blue head engines and 1 OS Max 35. I myself am into r/c cars and got these as a trade with some other stuff. I am just trying to find out are these worth anything of value if I wanted to sell them. They have great compression and I would bet they would run.

They are worth $25-35 ea depending on where youare at?

Thank you very much for your reply. Looks like I will be cleaning them up and selling them to get me some parts for my trucks. Actually ended up with about 10 engines most are .049 or around about for line controlled and most are brand new still in packages.

Those engines all sell good on fleE bay. Even the .049's go good.

I'm interested in obtaining a Ueda .55 Green Head. But I'm not willing to pay much over $20 for it. They sold for $21.95 in 1970.

The Uedas got a bad reputation rather quickly. They wore out faster then the importer could get them in. Another engine that didn't live up to potential. I bought them when I was stationed overseas in the early 60's and they wern't made particularly well even for their home market.

I sort of got the impression that the Ueda engines were the Japanese equivalent to the Testors-McCoy el-cheapo engines in their latter years.

A couple of my friends owned a .55 Greenhead back around 1970 or so. You could see that it was not a high quality engine by a long shot. It was also clear that this engine was going to rely heavily on the use of all castor oil in bodacious quantities if it was going to last a season or so of steady flying. Yet, it turned out to be a pretty good sport engine. For the price of $21.95, it was a terrific buy. Even for back then. I'd like to have one for display only.
