.80 XF + tuned pipe ?
Hello!
I am replacing a ST .60 and tuned pipe with my reliable .80XF. Plane is a Dirty Birdy 60 and I have a header I purchased originally years ago for my .60 XF-III. Since the crankcase is the same on the .80 and the holes match up, is there a problem associated with this plan? Also, since the header I have is extremely long compared with the header on the ST, can you give me a starting point for the proper length? Any help you can give me also about tuning techniques would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance! Mark :D |

Is the header an Enya header? I have the original paperwork that came with the Enya tuned exhausts. In this, it gives the correct lengths. I could fax this to you, I don't have it on my computer. These are for the .60 though, so yo might want to increase the lengths a little.

.80 XF + tuned pipe ?
Tim,
Thanks for the reply and the help. I believe the header is NOT an Enya original. Bought it several years ago at a LHS. Couldn't remember the mfg to save my life. The help with the lengths would be great. I can use them to start and as you said, leave them longer to adjust for. No need for the original spec sheet. Just a ball-park length would be great! Thanks again, Mark :D |

For the .60, they give a length from the center of the exhaust to the tip of the pipe of 400mm.
