Prop Question
I'm currently running a Saito 45 with an 11-6 prop I would like to switch to a 10" prop for more ground clearance but I'm not sure what pitch to use. Does anyone have any ideas?

Prop Question
Try a 10x7.

yup
Go down in diameter (1) and go up (1) in pitch
11x6, 10x7, 9x8 etc. Whaddya flyin'? Have fun- |
Wrong!
If you want to retain the same propeller load on the engine, which as I understand is your basic question, you must add 2 to the pitch for each inch you subtract in diameter.
An 11x6 will be equal in load to a 10x8, or to a 12x4. You can use the Reivers thrust calculator to demonstrate it to yourself. All three props will spin around the same RPM, on a given output (HP) level. |
