10 to 15 size engine help needed
I will be purchasing a 10 to 15 size glow engine in the near future to power a 72'' motor glider. This engine will spend a lot of time at the low throttle settings. This does not need to be a high performance engine. A good Idle with smooth transition is more important than maximum power. I guess user friendly is what I'm looking for. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help! Cvan |
10-15
If weight and power isn't a major issue, get a OS, TT or Magnum plain bearing .15.
If you want more power, the Norvel is a great little performer but the muffler on the .15 sucks- a heavy clip-on type. I've got an AP yellow jacket .15. It's powerful and light with schnuerle porting, BB's and rotateable rear exhaust. At a little over 50 bucks, it's the best value of them all. Hope this helps!!! Kirk |

10 to 15 size engine help needed
I run a OS 15FP in a Sig Wonder. I bought it new about 4 yrs ago and this thing is about as reliable and predicatable as you can get. It starts easy and has a air bleed carb which shut off because I want to make sure the engine dies when I'm on final. I guess this engine is no longer available but I'll bet there are still some around. Not sure if the LA is as good.

MAGNUM .15 DBLE BALLBRG
I have the MAGNUM 15 with a double ball bearing crank and this is one sweet engine that makes great power and has a great throttle transition. I definetly recommend this one....Brian

Great help
My first engine purchase when I got back into RC in 1985 was an FP-35 and I think it is still going. If the LA's are as good it, should make a great motor for this project, but I wanted to check with you guys first. I live in the middle of no where and can't talk to the guys at the field. No club. Thanks for everones input. It really helps.
