RE: running engine inverted
No!
Break it in upright on your stand and get the needles set. Make sure your tank height is correct for a inverted engine. Enjoy, Jim |
RE: running engine inverted
I run most of my engines inverted. You can break it in any direction you want. The key to the whole thing is the location of your fuel tank.
If you invert your engine and mount the tank in its stock location, you are going to have problems that tuning or plugs or regulators will not fix until you lower the tank. |
RE: running engine inverted
I prefer to break mine in on a stand mounted sideways. That way you don't have to worry about getting the glow plug wet if you should go rich (as you should on break-in), and the carb has easy draw for fuel (instead of drawing the mixture up hill as is the case with four-strokes mounted upright). When you invert the engine, you will likely have to readjust the carb (especially the low speed mixture), but you don't want to worry about that until after the engine is broken in enough to fly- then you can set it for optimum inverted operation.

I think yes,it is for both engines.
Also i have an OS 91 FX and i am going to break it in in my new Hangra 9 Corsair. Do you know in what position should be the tank? Should be in same height of carb? Any pic? |
