Test Bench
Need to build a test bench to run my K&B. I have a engine stand but it's not mounted to anything. What do you guys have. How do you set up a throttle control and fuel system.

How do you control the throttle?

RE: Test Bench
What I do is run your pushrod thru the rubber bands holding your tank..I have an Enya 120 4/s and K&B 61 they work just fine
hooked up that way.Just pull or push the pushwire,to rev or idle.Make sure all nuts and bolts are tight and stand behind the engine. I used two pieces of aluminum angle brackets mounted to plywood, drilled holes for the mount. Pappy |

ORIGINAL: skeeter_ca How do you control the throttle? The servo holds the throttle position steady even if it’s not powered up. |

ORIGINAL: w8ye Here's my Saito 150 on an American Hobby Products Jumbo stand W8ye's photo reminds of when I use to bench run engines. (I don't anymore.) I had a ST 4500. I mounted it to the front of a wooden sawhorse, then sat on the saw horse for weight and let that thing go!!!!! I bet if I had wheels on that thing, I would have had a heck of a ride |

Here's mine... simple, small, light and cheap... my top four criteria :D
Clamp it to a Workmate or work bench at the field Cheers! Jim |
RE: Test Bench
I went with something home built similiar to Jimmbbo's but a bit more elaborate.
One piece of 1/4" wood was used to build the whole thing. I drop the test bench into a Black and Decker shop mate. THe Shop Mate clamps a piece of wood which hangs from the main board of the bench. The motor mount is elevated on a crude wood square that has a tank mount aside it. A pushrod attached to a simple handle acts as a throttle. It took about 20 minutes to build with epoxy and drywall screws. Works great, less filling. |
