On their site
Thank You for your patience during the downtime in Sept/Oct We appreciate it greatly. |
RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
I have been hit twice with sale items found on RC universe. A year later never recieved them. I tryed to get money back from Credit Card company but the six months had gone by. Living in Canada I now only ordewr from Canadian suppliers or tower Hobbies. I dont blame Rc universe but there are some less then desirable outfits out there.

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
Yes, I already ordered from TowerHobbies and they are very correct! I have got from them goods under 1 week (USA -> Hungary !!) and theye given me a lot of preference.

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
There is a web site for the Federal Burea of Investigation where you can file a complaint and have an investigation done. Due to the international and interstate fraud that seems to be involved it comes under their jurisdiction. http://www.fbi.gov/

Order received! On April 8th I ordered a windshield for a Sig Kadet Senior. 65 days later the order arrived. What I got was a flat sheet of 4-5/8" x 10-7/16" clear butyrate. Cost was $1.85 + $7.08 shipping, total $8.93. (actual shipping cost was $1.00) I will be watching my credit card for unauthorized charges. None yet. At least I got something. It only hurts when I bend over.

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
I know it's a dumb question, but why didn't you just order one from Sig?
part# SIGRPWD258 |
RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
Looks like SIGRPWD258 is the part # for the side windows. I don't need the side windows. I found the windshield on SIG's site. The part # is SIGRPWD258ARF. You got me headed in the right direction. Thanks!

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
June 22, 2008
I too am being scammed by Quick Tech Hobby for $328.90 and I urge all that have been scammed to call the police department and especially the prosecutor’s office at Sedalia, Missouri and let them know about Larry at QTH. Today the police department was on the phone with me and Larry and Larry conned the police while I listened. It will take a few people’s calls to convince the police that QTC is a scam. This guy Larry is slick and he will put you off until he gets away free and clear with your money! Larry told me, while the police listened that COX didn’t have these airplane parts available…go to coxmodels.com website and order some of the miniature War Bird Parts and let me know what you found. I am filing a complaint with www.ic3 about internet fraud and I urge you to concentrate your efforts to ic3 and the prosecutor’s office in Sedalia Missouri. My word and my proof alone isn't enough to stop this guy that has been scamming peoples money, he said he has been in business for 32 years. Model airplanes are about the cleanest sport and hobby that one can imagine, so we don’t need sellers cheating us and giving this sport and hobby a bad impression. Call the prosecutor’s office at Sedalia; the police aren’t too smart and they tried to intimidate me to protect a crook! Thank you for a website that let’s the unpleasant truth be known. [:@] |

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
Just wanted to state that I have encountered the same situation with regards to Quick Tech. Placed an order for engine parts on 1 June 08. Received nothing. Sent numerous inquiries; no response from Quick Tech. I stumbled onto this thread recently and realized my error in dealing with this knucklehead. Today I received my credit card bill. Quick Tech made a charge, through a front operation called "Allied Wallet" to my credit card on 12 June 08 for the amount of the order. I contacted "Allied Wallet" and am in the process of reversing the charges.
Quick Tech is clearly a fraudulent business. I'd like to thank all of you who took the time to post your experiences with Quick Tech. Hopefully those efforts will prevent others within our fine community from encountering similar difficulties. I'd suggest this thread be posted with a sticky on the forum. Now, it is time to seek prosecution of the proprietor of Quick Tech. |
RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
I recently ordered some engine parts from a well known someone (company name withheld) and before I ordered heard a "rumor" that peoples credit card info had been stolen from them before. Being sceptical I ordered and eventually received the parts. BUT. Soon after I also ordered 3 items (very expensive stuff) NOT!!! Turns out the items were to be sent to a location within driving distance of his factory. The police and the credit card company are investigating. I hope the perp finds out how prison feels. [sm=48_48.gif] I will not let go of the situation! I hate when people steal from me![>:]

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
On 07/25/2008 I place an on-line order at www.quicktechhobby.com for product number CBA2214 Strap Hinge. I ordered 2 packages, each package containing 4 hinges, for a toal of 8 hinges. The order number for the transaction is 6209. The cost of each package of hinges is $8.95 for a total of $17.90. Shipping charge is $7.68. Total sale price of transaction is $25.58. As of 08/05/2008, I have never received any confirmation e-mail nor have I received my order. On 08/05/2008 I went to www.quicktechhobby.com to try & inquire about my order using their "Status Request Form." When I tried to send the form by clicking their submit request button, it would not go through. I then called the number listed on their website, 660-827-3577. There was no answer but I was able to leave a voicemail message on 08/05/2008. I then went on-line to see if there were any complaints against Quick Tech Hobby & I found a forum on www.rcuniverse.com dedicated to complaints against Quick Tech Hobby with complaints that dated back to 2005. I then call my credit card company on 08/05/2008 & found that Quick Tech Hobby had in fact charged my credit card on 07/29/2008 for $25.58 & had the charge listed as "Professional Services." I asked my credit card company to cancel the charge because the web site was possibly a fraudulent website. They agreed to cancel the charge. They also gave me another number they had listed in their system for Quick Tech Hobby, 1-888-255-1137. I called this number & the number is for "Allied Wallet." I then called the BBB of Kansas City on 08/05/2008 & was told that there are in fact complaints against Quick Tech Hobby dating back to 2005 for the same problem I encountered. I was encouraged by the rep at the BBB of Kansas City to go on-line & fill out an on-line complaint form. Which I did. Their website is www.kansascity.bbb.org

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
Hi,
I ordered a few propellors for a fast electric boat at quick tech hobby almost 2 months ago. At first Larry emailed me that they were out of stock. After some time , I emailed him to ask him when my order would be shipped and he promptly answered me by email that the items would be back in stock really soon. 4 days ago I got an email from Larry telling me that my order had shipped out. And today my order arrived in good condition. Although it took some time , everything worked out OK. I'm pleased with my purchase. Just to tell you guys that not everything from QTH is "BS". Pitty you guys had so much trouble with him. I guess I just got lucky. |

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
Unfortunately there are individuals that know if you ship "something" once in a while you will avoid prosecution. I was acquainted with a well known motor winder and found out his internet sales were 90% fraudulent. He would ship these little bottles of grease people ordered but when people wanted motor work done it was always "backlogged". Unless it was for somebody that could increase his visibility like a pro racer, even then he put it off till the last minute. He ended up keeping about 5 of my 27 turn stockers that I gave him for rebuild.

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
QTC is a rip off!!!!!!! I ordered a arf for over $300.00, Paid for it and never got it or a response from this place after dozens of emails and messages left. I reported them to th MO. BBB the FBI and registered a complaint for fraud with my credit card Co. which is currently investagating. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!
|
RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
No indeed, nobody should order at QTH .
I only noticed this toppic when I already placed my order when I was investigating his shop. I was fortunate enough to actually get everything I payed for. I have to say I was on his skin every day asking what the status of my order was. Maybe that's why I got my stuff at the end. But this guy should be stopped permanently. |

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
Judging by all of the complaints this guy is really bad news, funny thing is if you look at the joke section of his website you will find the phrase Evil prospers because good men fail to act ! Follow his own advice and strike back.

RE: Warning about Quick Tech Hobby
Wow! I guess that I'm just another who learned about this fraudulent site. Fortunately, I didn't order from this site. One time I did call looking to see if they still had a Lanier Indicator in stock. This kit was very hard to find except for on the Bay. When I called, there was a woman on the other end with crying babies in the background...home business I suppose. She honestly told me that the kit was notin stock.
From this experience and other research, I figure that theyclaim to have many products in stock that they truly don't have. Realnice business man, huh? KP |
