ORIGINAL: Dave fred Hi there i've just picked up a os max 60H Gold Top , but the inlet is on the back of the engine can anyone tell me any thing about it? thanks Dave They make great engines for big trainer type models like the Senior Telemaster. Mine are easy to start/run. One of the neat things about the rear carb version is you can remove the four screws that hold the front case/crank assemby and oil the bearings and plug it back in without having to remove the engine from your model. |
RE: os Max 60H Help
I've only used the twin plug H80 but the carb setup is the same as the H60. A couple of neat points about it is that if you invert the engine then you can uninvert (is there such a word?? :)) the carb by undoing the 2 screws and turning it 180 degrees so it points upwards. Much easier than having to try to lower the tank. The drum valve inside has 2 slots in it to get the drive from the crankpin. One slot has an R marked on it for reverse rotation. Mine runs perfectly on true FAI fuel (20% castor) and gives one flick starts. A very nice engine for its age.
