RE: Moki vs Mark
My plane had a wicked snap when pulling a modest turn that would end up inverted pointing at the ground, IMHO totally unacceptable for this type of plane. The C.G was moved all about (factory& RCU threads), wing and h.stab incidence was checked, the wings were checked for straightness. The last effort was to heat the covering and put a tad of washout in the wingtips but it made little difference. Hope you have a long runway to land, the roll-out is 400' (Downer & Mark.210) with no head wind. Take offs are easy and short. Fast and smooth on the straits. It sure was purdy, but I don't keep hanger queens. Sold it before the thing before I planted a balsa tree. Incidentally, guy knew what he was getting, but he wanted it anyway. Others love this plane, but I guess it's what you are use to or what you expect from a plane. To each their own. By the way captinjohn, It's been too long ago, I don't recall what 5% fuel I used, it's gone now. |
RE: Moki vs Mark
freakingfast,
Thanks for the info. You are the second person that has told me the Sundowner had some bad habits. I may should re-think this a little. |
RE: Moki vs Mark
I seen a few Sudowner,s fly at the National Air Races in Astabula, Ohio last year. I would search in a Air Race forum for the data. I cannot remember the link right now...but read about them there. The ones I seen fly looked ok to me. I do think Sundowner,s have to be set up right, but most of all a good flyer that can fly & land a airplane at high speeds. Capt,n P.S. The National Air races are really neat.....hope you get to one.;)
