The title of 1930-1960 is wrong. Kraft sticks place the end date after 1968.

A lot of the footage was of free flight models. Some of the engines they were trying to start were also from "the beginning of time.... uh.... modeling".

Not much RC back in the 1930s, less you new about radio and designed and built your own.
Amazing how concerned they were about safety back then, isn't it? FF models with big .60 sized gas engines turning 12 and 13 inch props up to maybe 6 or 7 000 rpm from among the spectators and other flyers.
