Default Kraft 61 'Swirle Schnurle'

Anyone remember hearing about this engine? It's on that bid site.

I posted this in the Classic RC Pattern section but should have put it here.

Sure do....I have one a pattern Spitfire scratch built from Model Builder plans of a couple of decade back. Still runs great and powerful, too. I think ti is a Kavan carburetor on it or a derivation of one like it.

Not so....I flew it last summer...too cold to fly now...great engine and not worn out......OK so it's forty years old...I'm 87...still building and flyhing...and a helluva lot more active than most folks half my age..... besides, I've got a shelf full of "old" engines that still run....and run good...

Frank,

Is it not so that it is the more regular Kraft engine you have and still use? The quiz was about the Kraft "Swirle Schnurle" engine, and this is not the same as the normal Kraft engine that was sold to the masses back then. Only a few "Swirle Schnurle" were made (maybe a dozen or so), but why it was never put in serial production is beyond me.
