Default When to rebuild my engine? Super Tiger

I Have an old supertiger 45 (mid 90s)
It has compresion and does run. It takes an aweful lot of gas
to run. It needs to run very rich... Is the fuel getting past the piston ?
It smokes and spits fuel in order to run ??? if I lean it it will dead stick
in the air and it will be hot?
Thanks
david

Try turning low end screw counterclockwise about 1/4 turn before you begin overhaul. Also, take carb out of housing and put a bead of high temp gasket sealer around the o-ring and reinstall down tight. Lastly see if the main needle shaft is tight in housing. There's an air leak somewhere.
