DeBolt aircraft
Anyone know of a list of the aircraft that DeBolt/DEMCO had once produced, or intended to produce, or were in the works. I have one from a magazine article, but also have plans for some of the Livewire series not on the list, including a twin.
My list comes up with 36 different RC and controlline A/C which were a part of the DeBolt family, but I don't think they all could be purchased in a box over the retail counter.

RE: DeBolt aircraft
Have tried contacting him several times over past six months, but no luck. I reviewed the list which A.M.A. had, and we have far more plans than they have on their list. Oddly, we do not have a couple of teh popular ones.
Ever hear of the Livewire Wasp, The Rebel, or the Spitfire?

RE: DeBolt aircraft
I remember a few not on your list. The Cub that was very similar to the Champ, the Persuit, a low wing pattern from the late 50's and the Crusader that was similar to the Persuit, but earlier and I don't think it was ever kitted.

RE: DeBolt aircraft
Good....Maybe we all can come up with a more substantial list after some thoughts.
However, I was thinking the Persuit was just another name for a different model.
Some of the plans are just rough outlines on vellum, like the Livewire twin. No further information on the plan, except a note to use some of the details from the Viscount.

RE: DeBolt aircraft
The "Acrobat" was the biplane, but I don't see the P-Shooter, nor the Formula 1 models deNight Special & Midget Mustang. Also "F2" racers Mustang and Caudron. Probably were several other racing designs from the late 60's early 70's.
Live Wire Cruiser and Sonic Cruiser too- maybe I just missed them on the list.

You guys are pretty good. ........
If you know of relative size to plan, wingspan for the A/C, power or approximate date for first introduction, please give also.
I omitted a couple in my list, as did not have a plan handy for comparison.
DeBolt also did several for magazines to which never got kitted. At the A.M.A. site/listing I located a missing one from an old magazine that I had.
Keep 'em coming.

RE: DeBolt aircraft
The P-shooter was in that same family as the Acrobat & Jenny. 57" w/span for 29-40 power, probably 1964 or 65.
The deNight was 1968/69. deBolt, Ed Keck and my Dad (Hale) raced them in F1 at the 69 Nats- fast airplane. Used a novel approach of only 1 aileron-theory to reduce drag. Was published in AAM.
Midget Mustang was later maybe 70 or 71. Not sure if either was kitted .
Sonic Crusier is on by "to build" list someday. Semi symetrical airfoil cabin job w/ ailerons; 29-35 power. 65"ws I think, or close to that. From the early 60's.
I had built a Rebel a few years back with an OS 10- darn good flier, superior to the LW Trainer.

Hi Everyone;
Greetings from sunny and warm Florida; now that the hurricane season is over I have snuck back to my favourite Thong infested beach.
I have in my kit collection virtually every RC kit Hal ever produced, and the preceding contributions are almost complete, with the only other kit designs I can think of are as follows:
under Hal's own DMECO production there was a companion LW P-51 kit to the LW Cobra; + I only recently acquired a proto-type or preproduction kit of Hal's Pogo Form 1 Pylon design published in MAN a way back when...20 or so yrs ago.
+ while with MidWest he designed the beautiful little LW Beercat Bipe scale plyon racer, and the LW Taylorcraft, scaled after Dwayne Cole's Clipped wing full size, this kit design utilized the airfoil from the former LW Acrobat/Jenny/P-Shooter designs, and I think Hal designed a foam glider for Midwest called the Lazy Bird, but I am not sure.
Yhat is about all I can think of rite now, but will do some more checking for sure. Best regards to Hal, [love your designs Old Friend], and to the rest of you out in the 'id' of the net from Florida,
Joe Nagy.

RE: DeBolt aircraft
I built a Debolt Caudron Racer about 10 years ago. .15 size engine. I don't know any other details as no longer have the model (sold it). I may still have the plan somewhere.

Earlier this year the newsletter of the Vintage R/C Society group had a listing of many of Hal's kits and published plans. Maybe they have some back issues.

BobG.....
There are several plans to which had not been kitted nor issued to the public. Those two you noted and a few more. If you are ambitious, these could be turned into a model, but you have to contain some scratch building ability also. There is no inventory, nor assembly instructions for sevral of these. Thus a few were preliminary designs only.

Hey Guys!
Don't forget the Autogiro. Don't think it was ever kitted, but plans are still available through the R/Cstore fsp09773. I think the number means it was a M.A.N. construction article in Sept. 1977 (or July '73 - I never could totally figure those out.
