Taurus
Regarding the Taurus kit by Top Flite--In the later runs of kits, and also possibly in an article in one of the magazines, there was a sheet or information on how Ed said to modify the basic Taurus for use with proportional radios. Does anyone have a copy of this info that I could get a copy from you? As I remember, the wing was swept so the trailing edge was straight, and the dihedral was decreased, but I can't remember the rest. I am more than happy to pay copy costs and mailing, or it could be emailed to me at : [email protected] Thanks for your help,
Sam

RE: Taurus
Sam,
I found the modification sheet. I don't have the means to scan and e-mail. I've already made a copy and I will be glad to mail it to you. Let me know. I'll be glad to call and get address or what ever. Just let me know.
Thanks, Fats

Hi FATS,
Great to hear from you---can you please send me an email to [email protected] and I will send you my address info. I would use RC Universe to respond direct from the site, but they don't seem to have a way to send a private message. Thanks for the help,
Talk to you soon,
Sam

Fats,
I am also very interested in hearing right from "the horse", (ie Ed), about how he would modify the Taurus for proportional radios. I just completed a 23 y.o. original kit where I made certain modifications to hopefully make it a bit more modern looking and fly better with proportional, (see threads from JJpetro for a more detailed description, and pictures). Please e-mail me at:
[email protected] , or [email protected]
for my address/phone etc
I'd like to talk to you.
Thanks

I may have given you a reversed order address at work. It should be:
[email protected]
My home e-mail I guess had a feauture where I had to enter you address first BEFORE it would take it. Please try my work address again. Thanks

RE: Taurus
I found this in my 1971 Propo Primer.
Taurus modification for proportional control:
1) Shorten tail cone by 2".
2) Straighten trailing edge.
3) Increase dihedral 1" at each tip. (The wing tips are elevated 3 1/4" instead of 2 1/4".)
4) C. G. location 6 3/4" from the leading edge.

RE: Taurus
I have built several of the Top-Flite Taurus kits and found them excellent flyers as built from the kit. Keep it light do not over power it. It fly's well with a 40 size engine. You do not need a 60 in it.

RE: Taurus
Fats,
I would really like a copy of that modification sheet. I am getting ready to do a fiberglass/foam Taurus and would like to build one w/those mods just to check out exactly what it does. If you could, just email me at [email protected] with any charges and so I can give you an address.
Thank you very much,
Dan
