Attack angle in biplane..
Hi, i has Kyosho PT-17 Stearman. Now all are ready to fly, but before i start to fly, checked with indicence meter. I discovered there are wrong attack angle in the upper wing, there are -2 degree and lower wing are ok, +1.5 degree. Thinkig i am adjusting to +2 - +3 degree when i am adding the spacer between the wing and wing stay, will it be ok?
Has some one same problem with the upper wing with wrong attack angle in the Kyosho PT-17 Stearman?

That's about right for a biplane. They are rigged so the bottom wing flies at a higher AoA and stalls first. Better for the slow flight and stall characteristics.

RE: Attack angle in biplane..
actually depending on wing setup and incidence of stab.in a normal bi plane ,straight wings ,top wing in front of lower wing.the top wing should be + incidence and bottom wing either zero or a tad -..the top wing should stall first so as to crate a nose heavy condition that will make recovery easier.if the bottom wing stall first then you have a tail heavy condition.for more imformation check out aerodynamics forum and searh biplane incidence and also look for post by hal debolt.
