Hello Waco faithful - At my local R/C club we had an estate sale a few months back, and I bought a partially built Pica 1/5 Scale Waco YMF kit. As happens sometime, life has intruded and I have to move on to other big projects, so this one needs a new home. I purchased a new correct fiberglass cowl from Fibertech N' More (71.65), and I also bought the glass cowl and wheel pants from Fiberglass Specialties (I think they were about 100.00 total), which the wheel pants will need 1/4" sectioned from centerline to be accurate, and the cowl has the bumps in groups of two, different model Waco if you choose to build it as such. The fuselage has been mostly built as you can see, and the gear wires are in position but not fixed finally yet. The balance of the kit is in the original Pica bundles, the plans are there with decal (sticker) set, a construction manual, a printed copy with revisions from the House of Moy website, and templates for rib revisions and other new parts from that same web page. The original vac-formed cowl is not there, but no loss as it wasn't an ideal part to begin with. I am looking for 450.00 for everything, and you either pick it up here in South Lake Tahoe, CA for free or pay for three boxes to be shipped to you: One with the partially built fuselage, one with the balance of the kit, and the third with the fiberglass parts. Any takers? Contact me at [email protected] and we will work out payment by paypal and shipping if needed.

Waco in Waiting...
First post, but have been reading and studying this thread since Nov. 2016.
I have recently purchased a "Wonderfully constructed" Waco, but, I lack the experience to
fly it.
I have loved the Waco for many years, and plan to build a few of my own.
Thanks to all who contribute to this thread.
I would like to be a member of the Waco Brotherhood if possible.
Thank You.

I am not a member of the Waco Brotherhood but I would like to be. I am just beginning to build Wendell Hostetler's 25% Waco YMF-5. I have lots of questions if anyone else has tackled this big bird

O/K, now that the season is pretty well over my PICA 1/5 will be making it's way to the build table for a check over. While there may ask if I need to make a change.
Had a hard landing later in the summer that bent the gear a bit. Upon straightening I added a touch of toe in, something that benefits my other conventional gear machines. On grass no difference, but on pavement it danced all over the place. The crosswind likely did not help, but it went wherever it felt like, with no reason I could determine. Since this was at a public event decided to abort.
Was thinking of adding a gyro to the rudder to prevent this from happening again, to be enabled only on hard surfaces
Should this go back to neutral toe angle?.
