Peppermint Pattie
I have a Master-Kit 'Peppermint Pattie', kit and have an engine question to throw out there. Kit specs call for a .15 size engine, but I don't have a .15, but I do have a brand new OS .25 FSR. Is this way over doin it? Has anyone out there in vintage land built one of these sleek little bullets?

You really don't want to build that kit, you only think you want to build that kit. What you really want to do is sell it to me. I loved mine, had a Cox conquest 15 on it and it was a blast. The 25FSR is too heavy an MVVs, or Rossi or Cox 15 will really let you enjoy this plane, especially with todays equipment

Norvel can be accused of many things but right now they could not be accused of making any motors!
Supposedly they are still in buisiness though no one has had a shipment from them in a very long time. A real tragedy as the quality of their motors has already spoken.
Yes Norvel made a .15. I hear it was really nice too. $bay has them from time to time. Also the equally nice Cox Conquest .15.

RE: Peppermint Pattie
The Pattie is just fine with a basic .15 like the OS LA, TT or Magnum.
It is a very nice flyer and one of my favorites.
Please contact designer Nick Damuck directly in the thread referenced below for a
copy of the plans. It's well worth building!
I lucked out and snagged on a couple P.P. kits from AHC when they were cleaning
out the warehouse several (SEVERAL) years back. (And about a 1/2 dozen other fun kits...)

RE: Peppermint Pattie
There is a nice thread on the PP in the Classic Pattern forum that I started a few days ago.
Nic Damuck has actually posted in it and is working to make his plans available. He provided a lot of good information about the development of his designs. It's worth a read:

I have generated a set of rib templates so that a balsa built-up wing can be made ( the original had foam cores).

Too big. Way too big and heavy, not to mention way too powerful.
Mine used to honk right past the piped .60 pattern aircraft of the day with only an HB .15 baffle piston engine. It was a real challenge keeping it within sight and my distance vision was good in those days.
