Wives, can't live with them, can't live without them, and it's illegal to kill them so you might as well settle for getting the last word: "Yes dear!" And win every argument by saying: "I'm sorry, you're right dear." Hey my 35th anniversary is this month I had to have learned something in all that time!

But Dave, she did not get it either. So it sits in the thrift shop for some one else to purchase who has no ideal what it could be used for, dang it. I am tempted to tempt fate and sneak out and go get it, then just mod it up. The only thing stopping me is the threat of the iron skillet up side my head when she sees what I did. And believe me SWMBO will find out.

The wife even mentioned buying a new kettle, which by the way would become hers, and then I would take the old one. But I am not to sure how solder would stick to it. Grind the shiny plating off and it might.

But dang it $3 for the copper one. I will pay more than that for the copper pipe and adapter fittings.

Sheesh

Ken

Well if I reply back from the hospital you can go ahead and fill in the blanks

I go farther than that Mike
I do say Yes Dear, the I follow that with I Acquiesce Dear, followed by Genuflecting towards her. I can then safely walk away.

You left out the part where you back out of her presence with your head bowed! Otherwise you can't see the skillet coming.

Maybe I should buy a motor cycle helmet to wear as safety gear

Do they make head mounted lasers that will zap iron skillets????

SWMBO came out of an old BBC series called Rumpole of the Bailey that was shown on BBS. Rumpole was a British barrister played by the late Leo McKern, he was Matlock and Perry Mason all rolled into one. Difference being he was also henpecked by his wife whom he referred to as "She Who Must Be Obeyed.

Ahhhhhh, I remember the series being on TV, but never watched it. But then, I never saw even one episode of Taxi or that one in the bar that ran so long - forgot the name.

You must not have cable, or sattelite.

Actually, I've had both at one time or another - Direct-TV antenna is still mounted but we've had Comcast for quite a few years now too. No, situation is/was that I spent so much time in my woodshop I never got to watch much TV. Now that I'm pretty much retired I'm finding that I really didn't miss all that much.

I didn't "discover" those shows until they were syndicated. I found them amusing, but I can combine shop time with TV, because my wife bought a TV for my shop.

I don't have to choose one over the other.

My point was really that it sometimes is hard to avoid those shows, as the cable/sattelite networks are so repetitive in their offerings. I think I get 2 1/2 men on four channels, and the same with Big Bang Theory. LOL

No place would have me Mike I'd just sit in the lobby and run my engines.
And if they locked me in my room I'd just blow air through my lips and make engine noises.
You should join me.

Found a teal kettle today $4. I will be makeing a trip to Home Depot tomorrow to look at copper fittings and a 3' of copper pipe.
I have several options at this point.
#1 find a piece of copper pipe that is a snug fit into the spigot. Then partially cap the far end so the steam flows to the far end.
#2 cut off the spigot and install some sort of fitting to stick the copper pipe to

#1 is way cheaper and I will try it first

I hope to have time tomorrow to hunt for the rest of the parts to make my steaming vessel. But I am not to sure. And next week I have a pair of late appointments. A new sleep study. But that should not interfere.

Hunted for some pipe or tubing yesterday. Struck out
What they wanted money wise made me think they were smoking something that they should share!

3/4" aluminum was more than I was willing to pay. and then I found some copper. But it was only sold in 10" lengths. And there was now this side of eternity I was going to pay that much for something that I was only going to use 3' of.

I did cut all the strips I need. Will resume hunt tomorrow. I think I know were they will cut it to 3ft. Then steam on baby.

I have other engagements Tuesday so I hope to be building mid week.

Why not try some plastic water pipe and use J&B to attach it? It won't look too pretty but I have seen schedule 40 used for steam boxes before so I can't see why it wouldn't work.
