Slowpoke 40 Sport servo mounting question
Hello,
I'm building a GP Slowpoke 40 Sport. I'm mounting the servos, and want them to be the same orientation (std/reversed) from my transmitter as another plane using the same radio and channel. The pushrod tubes mounted in the holes going to the Elevator and Rudder are aligned up such that I have to mount the elevator and rudder servos VERY close together, as in with only about 1/32 or 1/16 inch space between them.
Is this OK? Or should I pull out one tube and make new holes... this would be difficult, because the model is already covered!!
Thanks!

Actually, you can move the servos and pushrods any way you desire. The method in the kit is how the designer did it. If you have a different way that suits you, it's just fine. You really only need to make sure tha the pushrods have no binding anywhere, and that there is no slop in the control movement...that is, you cannot grab a control surface and move it without moving the servo.

It's usually not a good idea to have servos so close to each other that they touch. This is mainly to prevent vibration in the airframe from being amplified across the servos. RF interference is almost never a problem in this instance.

RE: Slowpoke 40 Sport servo mounting question
Thanks for your reply. That's good to know.
I ended up hacking some slots and moving the control rods a bit, so I could move the servos... they are spaced OK now, and I was able to get the throttle servo to connect in the direction I needed.
