Default Arrow II Engine Choice

I haven't made up my mind concerning the engine selection for this plane. I noticed the instructions showed an OS 61 (I think) with the special Top Flite Muffler/header set-up.

My question is will this same muffler/header set-up work on an OS 91? If so, will the engine/muffler still be within the cowl?

I wait your reply with baited breath

The Top Flite in-cowl muffler system won't work with a .90-.91-size engine. It's a bit too restrictive, and the engine will overheat.

Anyone know if an OS FT-160 twin will fit inside the cowl?

What are the dimensions from plug to plug?

The O.S. FT-160 is just about 8" wide. The firewall of the Arrow is that wide. Since the cowl tapers as it goes forward, it will be a bit narrower than the engine. You'd have to make very noticeable cutouts on both sides of the cowl to accomodate the FT-160 Twin.
