I just ordered my Patriot 40 and am looking for any build suggestions that folks can offer. This is my 3rd kit so I have some building experence but not allot. (built several ARFs too).

Also I am thinking of forgoing the retracts. I don't really want the plane other than the build experence and maybe have something that would be fun to horse around the sky once in a while.

Just build the plane dead stock, following the instuctions exactly. The Patriot is a very nice flying airplane.

SInce I havn't been able to find much info on the plane, does it come with wire landing gear?

The kit comes with fixed gear. Retracts are optional, and installed by the modeler.

I have begun the build process and have found an issue. I am starting to assemble the wings and I have stopped at the SPARS. THere are enough parts to build 4 spars. The directions don't say wether I should build 1, 2, 4, or however many. Right now I have 2 built. 1 for each wing half. Should I build 2 more making a total of 4?

I see in the directions that it shows a double check for those items that require building twice but these only show 1 check block.

You'll build four spars... left top and bottom, and right top and bottom.
