Default TF p-40 and Dave Brown Cockpits

I have been building a Top Flite P-40 kit and am looking at installing one of the Dave Brown interior cockpit kits.

Do these kits necessitate the removal of the existing cockpit floor and will there be enough room for the servos to fit in the stock location?
Do people move the servos because of the cockpit kit?

thanks

Cockpit kits are all custom installations. You'll likely have to make sure there are no pieces of bulkhead or sheet inside of the box that would comprise the cockpit. If this means you have to relocate servos and retract gear components, such as the air tank and/or valve, then so be it.

There is nothing hard and fast about this. You do whatever's needed. Everthing that would normally be placed in that area will have to be moved.

So I've got my Dave Brown cockpit ready to go in, the TF P-40 cockpit floor will need to be removed, but I'm worried about strength as it's made of ply and quite substantial.

Will the removal of this floor reduce the strength of the fuselage as it is such a substantial piece of ply at this point. It is only 3/4 of an inch down from the cockpit edge so it has to go if I am to fit the cockpit.

You may need to make hardwood rails around the perimeter of the cockpit area to replace the ply you have to remove. If hte cockpit box is strong enough, you may not have to worry about the floor piece you're taking out.
