Default kit building

im building a pt 40 trainer for my son as a second plane, and i would like to know if i take all the dehidral out and make the wing flat how to set the airons and what it would perform like with these settings. i will be putting a k&b 40 motor on it.

thank you planeman50

If you remove the dihedral, then the airplane will become somewhat less stable in the roll axis, and will lose all self-righting tendencies. You won't really need to change the amount of aileron throw as suggested in the instructions. They'll be a bit more effective without the dihedral.

I am in the process of this very same project for myself. My question is, do I still need to build in the washout per the instructions or can that be left out as well? Will the lack of dihedral affect tip stall and the need for washout?

Washout always helps, but you can build the model without it. Again, the washout is to help with stability, mild handling, and gentle stall characteristics. If you remove it and make the entire wing flat, with zero twist, then the stall may be slightly more abrupt, with a slight wing-drop tendency.
