Is anyone using their own radio to fly this heli ? I'd like to set it up on my 9C--anyone have any ideas ? Nice little heli for the price but it would be much better with a better radio for guidance. Thanks for any help

Swash Type setting: HELICOPTER(HR-3)
MODUL: PPM
CCPM servo channel mapping:
CH1: Right rear CCPM servo
CH2: Front CCPM servo
CH6: Left rear CCPM servo
Servo Reversing:
CH1 = Aileron Normal
CH2 = Elevator Reverse
CH3 = Throttle Reverse
CH4 = Rudder Normal

CH6 = Pitch Reverse

AIL-> +65%

Why mix throttle and aileron/elevator?
Cyclic movements take additional throttle to keep head-speed up, this is something I learned a while back from suggestions for the Hornet from Eric Larsen's home page.
Easiest way to test for yourself is to hover and just run the helicopter through some quick rocking motions, you'll be able to hear the head-speed drop.
The two mixes add throttle during cyclic simply to keep the maneuverability up, the stock radio doesn't do this, and it's why you hear so many people complain about a stock Axe losing head-speed in their first loops.

Not too familiar with the 6EXH but I don;t see what not since most of the settings are pretty generic and not really 7CHP specific.
Heck, best way to find out is just give it a go.

setup seems to work very good.. heli fly's even better .. was able to set all of your settings except the idle 2 for both Pitch/Throttle curves. heli acts very different with the new radio.. every mod i have done to this machine has change it in some way for the better including the new radio..

In the 7CHP manual it is listed as a HR3 swashplate type. Check it out. In the 9C manuals it miight be SR3.

Are you using the stock receiver or have you changed to some other receiver? If stock did you change the crystal what brand single or double conversion?
I have a 7c and a 9c I will try the 9c first.

I am currently trying to get my 9C to work with. I have tried a Hitec single conversion crystal and no response. Is is single or double conversion? And what brand of crystal?

stocker swashplate for axe cp is a 90 degree, the cnc swashplate is a 120 degree, as for the radio some may use a generic code number instead of degrees.

how about converting it modular,separate the gyro esc for tail,main esc , rx,volt regulator, maybe a dx7 on the controls, just wondering what esc could I use with the stock motor? Any help would be appreaciate

(I could just see it flying over the fence into either the drainage ditch or neighbors yard!!) - so I tamed down my pitch curve, and modified the throttle curve to give it a bit more headspeed for stability - I will post my mods this weekend.

P-MIX1 is as follows:
CH 2>3

I cannot figure out how to modify the top setting (whatever RT means!!)
(well, re-read the Cross book and it explains it a bit, but I cannot see how it relates to the mixes mentioned here!)
I don't know how you get these settings (maybe the terminology on the 7C is different from the 9C)
PROG - MIX1:
ELEV->THRO (Ch2 -> Ch3)
Down -20%, Up +20%
PROG - MIX2:
AILE->THRO (Ch1 -> Ch3)
Left +20%, Up -20%
I have both the user's manual and the 7C User's Guide by AnnMarie Cross, and NEITHER really explains the display and what it means. Maybe someone smarter than me can help me understand this programming.

Thanks for that new pitch curve for the 7C.
I was experiencing the same heartstopping thing in my backyard. Give it a little to much throttle and it went straight up from a 4 foot hover to about 20 feet into the air.
With your new pitch curve I can actually hover it without fear in my 6x5 cleared room (ceiling is only 8 feet high). Too windy today for outdoor test.
I have yet to hit idle up mode but I believe I need to adjust these pitch curves before I do.
Any insight into your pitch curves for Idle up.

I haven't idled up yet either. but I think the pitch curve for idle up will be fine - if anything, lower it a bit at the middle of each side of the curve, say
0.0%, 22%, 50.0%, 78%, 100.0%
