I purchased the common sense 11.1v 1250 mAh Lipo and after about seven uses one of the cells has swelled up to almost one times its original size. Obviously this is bad! This occured during flight and I didn't notice it until after my five minute hover and the battery had no juice left.
Question: is the battery any good for use? The balance/charger says "3.0L" for the particular cell and according to my manual this equates to voltage between 2.7 and 3.0 volts and it's okay. But, the swollen cell does worry me. I allowed the battery to cool down and monitored it.
Any thoughts and experiences out there is appreciated and thank you.

yeah, if it's swollen it's trash. The other two cells might be good, and if you know what you are doing then you can salvage them.
The main thing with lipos is you don't want to go below 3v under a load at any time. OC (open circuit) voltage should be nominal or higher after your flight.
No idea about that balance charger, if it's a cheap one you always want to double check it the first few flights anyway. Maybe it didn't do a good job at balancing.
2.75 is the lowest voltage you can bring a lipo back from, but it will greatly reduce the lifespan of it.
