I realize the problems that some have had with the Axe EZ motors after searching this forum. I've had my Axe EZ for about a week, and today it just dropped mid-flight and started spinning. I tried a different battery and still had the same problem. I could smell something burning so I let the motors cool down. I messed with the adjustment screws and finally got it back to the original settings. Once it was cool and I had a fresh battery, I tried the heli and it worked alright for about 3-5 minutes, but then it lost power again and would only hover about a foot above the ground at best and kept going into a tail spin. I used my temp gun to measure the motor temps and the top rotor blade motor was about 180 Deg F while the bottom rotor motor was only 110 Deg F. I tried the heli a couple of more times once it cooled and had the same results.
As I mentioned, this is not news to anyone who's read the forum regarding this problem.
My questions are:
1. Does anyone know a better motor that could be used, or a better fix for this problem?
2. For those of you that have replaced the motors, do you have to solder the connections or do the stock replacement motors come with leads already connected?
3. Is there a way to get the pinion gears off of the stock motor shaft, and install onto new non-stock motor shafts?
4. Does anyone know of a heat sink for the stock motors?
Thanks!

I've heard the blade cx motors fit but haven't tried them so I can't say for sure.
The stock motors do NOT have any wires so you will have to solder them and install the caps (the caps come with them).
A pinion remover tool is the best way so you don't screw up the teeth.
I haven't looked for heat sinks, I just fly about 5 min at a time to keep them from getting too hot.
