Default axe cp baaaad

Alright so I got this extremely good deal on Ebay $130 for a "brand new" cp(nihm), and it WAS brand new! but not right. The tail rotor is not taking ANY input, it just powers right up FASTER than the main rotor, and of course the heli just spins. checked the trim, wiring, bias adjustment, changed the mixer board AND the receiver to no avail and I do mean NO CHANGE what-so-ever! does anyone have a clue what I should do next? (besides the obvious ebay rescrewing of some other smuck), Or would someone like a "close to" brand new cp for $170 with an extra mixer board? although the tail rotor blade was broken on my final attempt of flight I will fix it. This has soured my taste for heli's I think, but man is it fun to run em inverted on my G4 Sim. Any help would be great I'm disgusted but I hate giving up.

Two things come to mind...

Is it possible that the servo reversing switch for the rudder channel is in the normal position. If I recall they should ALL be reversed on the stock Tx.

If you changed both the Rx and 3 in 1 AT THE SAME TIME with KNOWN GOOD replacements... then how about the tail motor's wires? The previous owner may have tried to repair/replace the motor or a tail boom and swapped the wires. If I recall there is a small red dot on the motor that indicates the positive terminal for the red wire.
