Need Advice!

Could someone please tell me how to get the blade grips of the hub without damaging them. I know you have to remove the screws but the screw that hold the grips in place are way too tight and I'm afraid I will strip them.
Any help wuld be greatly apriciated.

I had the same problem the first time I replaced mine. Yes, they are too tight. You just have to give it some muscle. It does come loose though!

I hope they do because I was tinking of cutting the whole hub apart and then grabing the rod with pliers and removing each individual screw.

I know you have probably already discovered this but the reason they are so tight is because the person doing the assembly got carried away with the thread locking fluid, like LocTite.

My only suggestion, and what worked for me, is t make sure you have a Phillips head screwdriver that fits perfectly. That way you stand a better chane of breaking at least one screw free. Of course, you then have to get the feathing shaft out of the bearings and that is another problem.

Once you do finally get them out, replace them with some 2x6mm hex head screws.

The best way to go about getting the blade grips off is as Quickster said using two #1 phillips drivers that fit the screws correctly. One of the posters also mentioned that if all else fails you could use a soldering iron to heat up the screw a little bit loosening the loctite.
Personally I just used 2 new hobbico #1 phillips precision screwdrivers I bought with the heli.

Good Luck!

Thanks a lot guys . I'll take the assembly to work so I can use better tools. If that dosent work I will definitly try and heat up the screws a sodering iron.(thanks for the tip)

Thanks a lot for all the halp guys .I finally got it off. After I got one screw out I acuallu had to force the blade grips apart from the hub by sticking a flat head in there. But all is well now.

Thanks for all the help!
