Using different transmitters

I'm sure this has been gone over a million times so please excuse my ignorance. I have tried to use my Futaba radio for my axe and have no luck. Any luck useing non-stock transmitters with the axe reciever? Or am I an idiot for even trying?? Thanks again Storm

I'm using my 9C and so far no problems. Are you trying to use a non-Helimax Crystal in the receiver? I'm using the synth module in my 9C so I just tuned it to the same channel.

I swapped RX Crystal on the heli with the Futaba RX Crystal and set the radio .. I used these setting from QUICKSTER47 ( THX again )

I had the same problem with my blade cp. I used the xtal from the reciever that came with the radio and swapped it for the xtal in the 4in1 and it didn't work.

called the lhs and the xtal in the reciever that comes with the radio is considered a "long" xtal. I picked up the short style xtal on the same channel and all was well.

futaba 7chp

This could be the problem you are seeing.

Thanks for the responses, I am trying to use a 8UAP. At least I think thats the name, its not in front of me. I just grabbed a crystal I had laying around and tried it in the axe board. No luck with that. I will check some others I have. I have never heard of long and short crystals. Will see what I can find. Thanks Again.

Well it took about 2 minutes on Tower site to discover there are indeed long and short crystals. I happen to have a short at home that I had just ordered for another project, so I will give it a try. Thanks Storm

Well the short crystal worked, now I am going to try to use the set up posted by QUICKSTER47 and see if I can get this bad boy settled down a bit. Thanks to all who took time to respond! Storm
