Thanks for the heads up! I just emailed about getting the replacement part. We will see how long it takes for them to respond and send out the "upgrade" parts.

Same here. I have heard that they have pretty good customer service from others.

I emailed them yesterday, and the reply today was they're already out of stock.. that they would send me a kit as soon as they're available.

Not that I REALLY need it right now, but it will be a nice change from fighting with the darn near stripped out phillips heads instead.

Good news .. i received my upgrade today in the US Mail # HMXE7814
Not bad for HM .. Talked to someone on 4-11 and now its 4-25 and just got it

wow!! I'm absolutely amazed!!!

the heli that was in at heli-max came back with the upgrade, and I recieved the upgrade for my other heli in the mail this morning.

Its probably a liablility issue and they want them upgraded asap to prevent injury.

i had a blade come off in in flight ..blade grip was still attached to the blade when i found it .. broke the head of the screw off

Got my spindle kit today. They're using cap screws so I'm not sure they'll allow the blades to fold forward. I did find [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001309151&I=LXLBR0&P=K]these screws[/link] at TH, but they're 1mm shorter and require a 1.27mm allen wrench. I went with [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXKTH7]Integy .05" drivers[/link] after I found that .05" was the same size as 1.27mm. I haven't received this stuff yet so I can't be positive it will work. Another option for screws is [link=http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7324950&postcount=2049]here[/link]. This guy went threw alot of trouble to find strong screws that would work, and he had to order a minimum of 100 so he has a few extra. I bought 6 off him.

Heliko - the new screws just barely caught the squared corner of the blades, I went ahead and gently forced them to move, then took them off and superglued where I'd ripped the skin/wood to seal things up, I haven't had any problems..

I know you can force the blade forward past screwhead with a just little bit of force Stratcat. In fact my blades have been on the heli for a while and some minor crashes have folded them forward and took off a little monokote like you said, but I'd prefer the blades not to contact the screwheads if I can help it.

My upgrade kit just arrived yesterday. Question: Can you use the hex screws with the old feathering shaft or do you have to use the hex bolts with the new shaft? I don't plan on doing anything until I break another blade grip. Thanks!

Im curious about that as well, it might be a different thread, thats why they sent the new shaft. Im gonna check and see.

I bent my new feathering spindle the day i got it! put the old one in with the new hex screws and it seems to fly fine.

I think the reason they sent a new spindle along with the capscrews is that when the screws failed the heads would break off, but the threaded portion of the screw remained in the spindle. If that happened it would be near impossible to remove it from the spindle especially with Loctite.
