RE: cheap esc
Go to tower hobbies and find thier ESC selection.
Scroll thru it till you fiind the UltraFly 25A ESC and programing card. Its fairlly cheap and it works great on my mx400. AND NO...you don't remove the red wire as suggested above or it won't work because the ESC supplies the power for the reciever. By the way, my son uses that gyro you bought...It works great. AB |

a 30amp esc for an axe cp is a little overkill but you can reuse it if you decide to go bigger. for $25 it works great or you can get the lower amp Dynam's for even less. |

RE: cheap esc
I have the same issue with the CastleCreations Pegasus 35P, the highest setting for voltage cutoff is 8.4v (2.7v per cell), which is too low for most of the 3 cell Lipo batteries we use, (except the $90 Nuke-proof packs). 9v is the recommend cutoff point for most of the common 3 cell Li-ion & Lipo batteries, 3v per cell. Anything lower results in swollen packs, won't charge, or dis-charges very rapidly. I just use a digital stopwatch zip-tied to my TX, when I reach 10-12 minutes, or I'm at 3/4 throttle, I stop flying.
