Evo 50 power switch

My receiver switch gets soaked in fuel residue from flying backwards a lot. Does anyone have a trick for keeping it dry?

I suppose you could do one of three things............

A. Stop flying backwards but that would take all the fun out of it!

B. Mount the switch on the opposite side of the frame.

C. Put an exhaust extention that directs the offending lubrication in a less offensive direction

I consider all components of my Hirobos to be "self lubricated" by an automatic inflight lubrication system.

Look at the bright side...................

At least the switch will never wear out :D

My switch lives up on the side of the frame instead of in the factory location. Seems to stay pretty dry there, but I don't go backward much. If moving it doesn't work for you there are a couple options. A. Live with the mess and pray it doesn't cause a catastrophic failure during flight. B. go to a switch that won't care (something sealed for adverse environments). C. clean it, wrap it in latex, and operate it through the stretchy covering.

My two cents.

Always fly in the middle of the air, stay away from the edges.

RE: Evo 50 power switch

The canopy is acting like an air scoop, directing a flow past the switch, so I think mounting the switch higher would help. But since I don't see a convenient place to put it elsewhere, I think I'll try making a deflector behind the switch instead.

BTW, the switch is not on the muffler side and it still gets an oil build up.

Are you running your engine too rich?
