Challenger 550 - Still good?
Hi there,
I have an old (c. 1989) Aristo Craft Hitec Challenger 550. The receiver says "narrow band" and it's PCM. Is this radio still good? Is it ok to use?
I'm a newbie so thanks for your help and patience.

PCM radios are better than both AM and FM. I still use an old JR Radio Alpina PCM 2 channel pistol grip radio. PCM is good because if someone is on the same channel with a AM/FM radio and accidently turns their radio on your radio the PCM radio wont be affected but their model will be affected by the PCM radio. It has to do with the PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) being much stronger than AM/FM.
