Hitec system for park flyer?
Mike, I'm an established "wet power" guy, who's looking to get my daughter a GWS Slow Stick for her 10th birthday; she's shown an interest in RC flying, but I want her to learn on a light park flyer that'll take some crashes & bounce a bit; the GWS comes highly recommended from my e-friends. My question: I know nothing about electrics, & I'd like to know if Hitec makes a flight pack compatible with the GWS park flyers, & if the receiver would work with my Flash 5X, as another model in its memory...or does Hitec offer a whole system with a single-stick TX for not a lot of $$$? Thanks!! -Daniel

Hitec offers several radio that will suit your needs. Click on the URL below.

I'd steer clear of the Feather RX options for increased range and flight options. You'll want the HS-55 servos.
Yes your Flash 5X is comaptible with Hitecs X-08 flight pack for small electrics. An unused or additioanl model memory will be required for the GWS Slow Stik.
My daughter flies the Slow Stik, great choice.

Daniel- I have a much better solution for you... The Multiplex Easy Star. This is by far the best training aircraft ever made. It also comes as an ARF with everything you will need including the radio, receiver, servos, motor, speed control, battery, and charger for about $175.
It is far more durable than the slow stick. and I guarantee you could not find a better airplane to get someone into the hobby.
Here's the info: http://www.multiplexusa.com/models/P...s/EasyStar.htm

The Feather is fine if you are flying by yourself in limited range "Park flyer" application but does not perform that well in a crowded "Flying field" environment. The 04MG or Electron are much better choices for this.
