hay guys....
I just sent my evo in for service because the scanner module is not allowing me to turn on to channel 11. When in scanner mode, the scanner is showing a tiny signal on channel 11 (it does this only on channel 11). Every time I turn on when on channel 11 I get the beep....beep....(channel being used error message)
I checked over at rcgroups.com where there is a giant thread going on the evo. I explained my experiences with this error message and evidently many of the guys over on that board are experiencing the same problem as me (only on channel 11).
I believe my evo is on your work-bench as you are reading this !!
could this be a software glitch ???

Another reason is that the scanner is very sensitive and will pick up any bleed through from other sources lighting up one bar on the display.
This is enough to trigger the warning on the EVO but it can be overridden to allow you to operate that channel.
I have seen it on a UK set on channel 68. Overridding it allowed the set to work properly with no problems at all.
MPX say it is better to be too sensitive that not sensitive enough!

it did this all the time/every-time. but only on channel 11. tried in several different locations, always the exact same results. I believe that if fired up on the moon, would do the exact same thing. I did override, that is how I was able to fly!!
I payed for a radio that should work flawlessly every time! ....this is what I expect.
