I know its not available yet but I had a few questions
After the charge cycle, will it switch over to trickle automatically and can it be manually forced to trickle a pack without going thru a charge cycle..
Thanks

Thanks Mike..One more question..Im not sure what kind of programming its officially called but If I use my TX for say 20 minutes and put it on the charger, does it go thru a whole charge cycle and then goto trickle or will it just put back in what was used and then trickle..
Thanks

I have an additional question....How many charging ports does the LN 4014 have? Can you charge more than one battery at a time?
Thanks,
Kevin

It has one charging port. The only way to charge more than one pack is to connect similar packs in the same discharged state together in series or parallel. For example... the 5014 can handle up to 14 cells or 5S Lipo up to 5A. Therefor you could connect two 7 cell packs together in series and charge both in the same time it would take to charge one. The same would go for LiPo in series or parallel if you can increase the current. For example you could charge 5 1000mah Lipo connected in parallel at 5A in the same time it takes to charge one at 1A (1C) but you need to make absolutely sure the cells are the same and at the same voltage when you start or you could run into problems.

Mike,
What voltage will this charger charge a 2 cell lithium pack? 8.4V? I have an apache charger and it only charges to 8.28volts. I know not a big difference but I don't like that. Also what if you have a 2 cell pack whose voltage is below 6 volts. Will it charge that pack or give an error since the voltage is too low?
Thanks,
Matt

All Lipo chargers should charge a 2S pack to 8.4V. So yes, it does.
It should be okay unless the pack has an issue. The resting voltage of a 2S lipo should be above 6V even if it was discharged below that.

hi i am charging tx batteries..
4 x 1800mah aa's
it charges up to around 140mah then it says its full..... its definitly giving false peak.... charge again and it stops again at about 140mah..... what could be the problem?
thanks

the batteries are not new, but not old either.... i have a few sets of batteries, these batteries are about 6months old and would of been charged previosly max 20 times using either a 1.5ah analogue charger or a slow 70mah wall charger...
i have tried charging these 1800mah batteries at 1a/hr and at 1.8a/hr they charge for about 4minutes then says its full.....

also, when i do cycle mode... when it dishcages, it does not go the to voltage as specified by the user in the discharge screen.... how does it calculate the voltage when to stop discharging? i have set it to 1.1 per cell but it goes well below this [&o]

hey when i do cycle mode.... doing a nimh 5 cell RX pack....
the discharge was going below 4.6volts ... it went all the way down to 3.8volts and would of went further if i had not stopped it.....i had to stop it manually before it did damage to the cells....
how does it know when to stop discharging? it doesnt go by the user volatge setting in the discharge screen.... why is it going below 4.6v discharging 5 cell packs??

Did you set the battery voltage to 6.0V in the discharge screen?
Did you set the battery voltage to 6.0V in the discharge screen?
why 6v? i set it to 4.5v = 0.9V/cell x 5 cells .... but even if you set it to 6v... when in cycle mode does not recognise the voltage setting, set by the user.... but it doesnt stop at 0.9v/cell or 1.0v/cell or 1.1v/cell !!!!!!

I miss-typed my thoughts 6.0V is the nominal voltage for a 5-cell pack. The voltage cut-off voltage for capacity ratings should be 4.5V of a 5-cell pack.
I tested the termination feature on two different chargers this afternoon and it worked as programmed at the voltage I preselected.
Is it possible you input the termination voltage improperly? Have you tried it more than once and verified the termination voltage

hi mike.
when i preselect the termination voltage in the discharge screen and i discharge using the discharge screen it works fine... i set to 4.5volts and it stops at 4.5Volts...
the problem is when i use CYCLE MODE, it doesnt stop at the prescribed 0.9volts per cell.....
in anycase i dont think when in cycle mode, the termination voltage can be set manually, it does it automatically, however it does this incorrectly as the cell goes well below 0.9 volts per cell.

any results? i have experiment many times and it goes well below 0.9v per cell, i'm not sure what it would of went down to as i dont want to ruin my cells by experimenting
