Mike, I fly exclusively hitec servos. Just getting into digitals and have been reading some threads/rants about excuses as why planes crash.

Not me.

I do need know I have a handful of 5645s with a modified july 2001 sticker on it. Does this need updating and I am going to buy a programmer, do all the new ones come with latest software.

ALso, if I ran my rcvr ant. thru about two inches of carbon fibre, will that screw things up.

Thanks

One more question. I have already soldered on extensions (about 2.5-3') worth. Any problems programming them with the extensions

Thanks for not buying into the fear created by the vocal minority.

All the new programmers should be version 1.03, the latest.

Yes you should use the reset function on the July 01 servos

Version 1.03 also allows programming through extensions.

Best not to run the antenna "thru" carbon fiber if at all possible.

The programmer manual says nothing about it however Mike Mayberry has made it known a few times not to reset them through extensions.

The latest information we have here at Hitec is;
Programming thru extensions with the latest version 1.03 servos and a programmer is acceptable and appears to be working well in all the testing we have done. If anyone out there is having trouble programming through extensions, please advise Hitec of this issue.

Thanks Glen, at one time Mike had said not to program them through an extension. Glad to know that this doesn't effect the programming after all.

I just go my programmer updated with version 1.03 software. I have a bunch of 5625MG servos that I will be using in a new plane. I'm glad to hear that programming through extensions is acceptable (I probably will not do this any time soon - but you never know when it might come in handy). Thanks for the update.

I too was very concerned about programming thru extensions as most users would have servos installed and many hard wire their installations making it really difficult to remove 'em. Just recently we finished a test series and proved the extension issue was solved. Yahoo.
