We have a new hobby shop opened in the HOuston area, they are selling their product at internet prices less 20%.
My wife went in the store looking for a HS5475, when she discover that they were cheap she called and asked how many to buy. I told her four.
When I got home I found that they have a date code of MAR 02 displayed on the box. Obviously very old stock!! Should I return them? I recall a couple of years back that before a certain date code some Hitec servos could lock up. DO these servos have the latest software installed? Are they as accurate as the modern ones?
Thank you in advance.

Mar02 is actually the date of the software (v1.03) not the build date. Look for a small round sticker with a date code to know how old they really are. Note that the year is first.
They should be fine though as there have been no changes to that servo since it was introduced.
Mike.
