I am glad I found this section, I have a problem with my Optic 6 that is driving my batty.
It has happened to me twice, but the second time I could not get the problem to clear. The first time about six weeks ago my #1 model memory just disappeared and would not recover. After playing around with it for awhile in the field, I cleared the memory and started over (pain), when I went to set it up again, at the menu screen for A/C type, I remember seeing that the radio switched itself to HELI mode before I cleared it, that is why the A/C settings went to hell.
Fast forward to yesterday, (10-12 hours of use) the #1 memory blanks out again. This time I check and sure enough it is back in HELI mode, problem is it will not switch back to ACGL mode no matter what I do or how I try to save it. Switch to a different menu, turn it off, back to HELI mode it goes.
#4 memory is the same, but the others are just fine and are working normally.
Any Ideas or suggestion?

OK, upon further reading in this section, I see the Optic 6 has a problem with the #1 memory dumping. I can accept that this could be my problem and so I checked my radio again.
Not only #1, but memory #4 and #5 suffer from the same problem. They are ALL stuck in HELI mode. You can enter in ACGL mode but it will not save it and return to HELI. Is this the same problem, or is it something new?
I really like the radio, and recommend it to anyone who asks, but with 3 model memories "out of service" with who knows how many more to come, I am starting to question myself.

Return the TX to Hitec Service for free updates and service... Be sure and explain the problems you've experienced. Josh and I have logged well over 30 hours with two Optics without issue. Unfortunately some TX's have experienced memory related problems, Hitec found the problem and will remedy for you with nary worry in the future.

How long are we talking before the TX is returned? This is right in the middle of the season, sure would hate to lose it for any lenth of time.
