Default 5945 Version and difference

Hi

I just bought 2 new 5945`s to install in my turbine model.

Can you tell me why they are slightly different to each other?
Im using them in a Mirage III Delta wing, and need them to perform exactly the same.
Should I replace one of them so the version numbers are the same just to be sure ?

One is Version 1.04 on a white square sticker and the other is 05.7 on round green sticker.
Which version is the newest ?

On the 5.7 servo, there is no + on the output spline shaft..... why is this ?

Also, the included ALU. servo arms are not the same anodized blue.

Is one of my servos a hitech copy or something, or has it just been fabricated in another factory ?

Thanks, Sonnich Johannesen

SJN, I hope you get an answer because I have close to the same situation. I received two new 5945's the being a 1.04 and in my case the other being a 5.10. I'm not sure but I think the 5.10 is the newest one. Both work fine if used on separate channels, in my case though I purchased them to be used on one channel. When I do this the 1.04 "jumps around" or "glitches". I've tried to reset them with my updated programmer (Hitec 6 weeks ago) but they still will not work together. I hope someone from Hitec gets back with an answer!!.
BTW I use Futaba PCM, I know that gave the 5955's fits in tandem before they did an upgrade but I never had a problem with with 5945's in the previous versions.

One thing I did come up with but I'm not sure is that the version number (IE 1.04) is no longer on the later manufactured servo's. I think it is a build date 05.7 would be July 05, 5.10 would be Oct 05 etc. I think 1.04 is the latest software version. Hopefully someone from Hitec can clarify this. It still will not solve my servo's in tandem problem[:@]!

SJN

This is the first time I have seen the discolored aluminum servo arm???

I'd suggest that the servo with the white square is an earlier version of the two. The green sticker is date coded July 2005. If you wan the servo to matches as closely as possibly less programming it might make sense to exchange one servo or have the earlier unit updated to match the electrical sinking current demands of the latter servo. Can’t say I believe it would make a notable difference but what the heck...

The + sign was used to distinguish between the earlier versions of the metal-gear trains, originally the + did not exist. I believe the latest releases no longer have the + symbol.
In any event the difference is the outside diameter of the servos output shaft; there is a very small difference in the diameter of the early release servos as compared to date. Simply see how the different arms fit the two servos to validate my thoughts.

Revision v1.04 servos all have the same software, the difference in later inventory as compared to early is a component update to resolve issues realized with Futaba PCM RX's working in multiples driven from a single channel or signal source.

The best case for matching Hitec servos is to utilize an updated v1.04 programmer and match neutral and end-points of both servos in play. Other than that you do as all the rest and use sub-trim and end-point percentages.

Thanks Michael.

Both metal arms fit the servos without any difference.
Both servos seem to operate the same, and are nice and smoothe, with lots of torque.
