Default hitec feather flight pack setup q

I have a feather flight pack and want to set it up w/ a 35watt direct drive motor and 5 270mAh NiCd's that I use in a free flier I have. The flight pack came with a switch harness. I see where the servos connect to the Rx. And I see how the switch harness connects to the Rx. My q is, does the other end of the switch harness connect directly to my NiCd's? Do I keep the leads I have coming off the NiCd's that go to the motor and make another set of leads go to the wiring harness? Or should I use a Y cable? Or do I need seperate power sources for the engine and the flight pack?

Sorry such a long q.
Thanks a lot for the support!

You will not use the switch harness that came with the radio in an electric model that uses an electronic speed control because it supplies the power to the receiver through the throttle channel.
